  • Marijampole University of Applied Sciences is the only higher education institution in Sūduva region established in 2001. Marijampole University of Applied Sciences will celebrate 20 years of anniversary next year, but the beginning was 100 years ago as Teachers Seminary was established then as the roots of our institution.

     

    Currently the University of Applied Sciences consists of 2 faculties. The Faculty of Education Studies and Social Work has two departments – Law, Management and Communication as well as Pedagogy, Arts and Social Work. The Faculty of Business and Technology consists of Departments of Technology as well as Business and Economics. There are about 600 students here and more than 100 teachers.  The University trains specialists of various fields not only for Marijampole Municipality but also for the whole Southern region of Lithuania. This year the college offers 9 professional bachelor programmes and 2 master programmes. Growth, improvement and innovation are important factors for the higher school community. Active cooperation with social partners and business companies is essential while implementing the programmes.

    Marijampole University of Applied Sciences cooperates with 40 foreign higher education institutions; therefore it can offer the students flexible and interesting studies and internships abroad. We help students complete all the necessary formalities and prepare for one of the most exciting life experiences with ERASMUS + student exchange programme.

  • Marijampole is the seventh largest city in Lithuania, located next to the international Via Baltica highway connecting Prague and Helsinki. There are about 20 large foreign and local companies in Marijampole region (IKEA, STEVILA, CIE LT FORGE, ARVI, MANTINGA). For six years MALONNY symposium in Marijampolė has attracted attention of Lithuania (MA – Marijampole, LON – London, NY – New York). The curator and developer of the symposium is Ray Bartkus, a famous Lithuanian artist living and creating in New York. In this project US, British and Lithuanian architects, designers, painters work together. They have decorated the town walls with 22 drawings.

    Marijampole Football Club SŪDUVA are the champions for the last 3 years. The club also plays in UEFA European League qualifiers and has a big fan base not only in Marijampole. Due to the constantly managed infrastructure, which is adapted to youth and active recreation, Marijampole has become a particularly attractive city for young people to live.
